On Tuesday (30/7/2024), the Communication, Informatics, and Encryption Agency of Ambon City organized the "Technical Guidance on Sectoral Statistical Metadata of Ambon Municipality Government." Held at Hotel Elizabeth, the event was opened by the Secretary of Ambon City, Agus Ririmasse, who delivered the speech on behalf of the Acting Mayor of Ambon, Dominggus N Kaya.
"This event is held to teach Regional Government Organizations (OPD) how to properly compile sectoral statistical metadata," said Agus Ririmasse in one of his opening remarks.
Agus Ririmasse hopes that the participants attending this technical guidance event can gain knowledge to compile and manage valid and responsible statistical metadata documents.
The event continued with a presentation by the Acting Head of the Communication and Information Agency of Ambon City, Ronald H Lekransy. Ronald emphasized to all OPD present that statistical data is crucial in supporting the development of Ambon City.
"Regions can utilize sectoral statistical data in planning to determine baselines and targets, thus serving as the basis for budgeting to calculate the expenditure needs of activity components, and as the basis for monitoring and evaluating regional development achievements," he said.
Entering the main activity, Statistics of Ambon Municipality served as the resource person for this technical guidance event, starting with a presentation on One Data Indonesia and the steps to compile sectoral statistical metadata by Functional Young Computer Expert, Angelia A Saiya.
Statistical metadata is structured and standardized information related to statistical data. Statistical metadata functions to describe, explain, and facilitate the search, use, and management of data. Statistical metadata also helps data users understand the data and prevents errors in data delivery. Statistical metadata is divided into three types: statistical activity metadata, variable metadata, and indicator metadata.
