Declaration of National Statistics Day 2024 by BPS Ambon

Friday, September 13 2024, the launch ceremony was opened by the Head of BPS Maluku Province, Maritje Pattiwaellapia. This moment marks our commitment to continue to support and celebrate the world of statistics which provides valuable insights for collective progress.

The National Statistics Day (HSN) is an important celebration for the entire Indonesian nation, not just for BPS. HSN refers to Law No. 7 of 1960, which marks the foundation of the National Statistics journey. This year's theme, "Quality Statistics for a Golden Indonesia," highlights the importance of statistics in preparing for the Golden Generation 2045, when Indonesia is expected to experience a demographic bonus, with the majority of the population in a productive age group.

Since its establishment, BPS has made significant contributions to national development and has earned trust as a provider of high-quality data. HSN is also a crucial moment to enhance statistical literacy among the public and to appreciate BPS programs such as Sectoral Statistics Development and Desa Cantik.

However, BPS faces challenges such as the data revolution and the need for more adaptive human resources. Therefore, BPS must transform to become more innovative and collaborative, while also providing insights to support policy-making. Every individual at BPS, whether leaders, staff, or statistical partners, is expected to contribute to realizing BPS's vision and building Indonesia through quality statistics.
