Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchangeability (terms of trade) of agricultural products for goods and services consumed and for production costs.
  • The Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) for Maluku Province in September 2023 was 104.90 or an increase of 0.31 percent compared to August 2023 which was recorded at 104.57. The increase in NTP was caused by the agricultural production price index (It) which was recorded to have increased by 0.57 percent and an increase in the price index paid by farmers (Ib) which was recorded at 0.26 percent.
  • In September 2023, Maluku Province is in 27th place out of 34 provinces with an NTP of 104.90. The highest NTP occurred in Bengkulu Province at 152.65; while the lowest NTP occurred in East Nusa Tenggara Province at 97.52.
  • It was recorded that two subsectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the food crops subsector (1.17 percent) and the fisheries subsector (2.59 percent). Meanwhile, three other subsectors experienced a decline in NTP, namely the horticulture subsector (-1.28 percent), the smallholder plantation crops subsector (-0.03 percent) and the livestock subsector (-0.30 percent).
  • In September 2023, the IKRT will increase by 0.27 percent.
  • Maluku Province's NTUP in September 2023 experienced an increase of 0.57 percent compared to August 2023, namely from 111.62 to 112.25.
