Abstract

In May 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Ambon City will be 4.61 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.32.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index in all or 11 expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 8.73 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.82 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 2.25 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 2.15 percent; health group by 2.93 percent; transportation group at 4.73 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.17 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 3.14 percent; education group at 2.43 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 4.48 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 3.95 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate for Ambon City is 2.61 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Ambon City in April 2024 is 2.99 percent.
